Elderly Pet With Kidney Disease

The past few days have been very busy for me, caring for my beloved cat, Silja. This past week she has had an ultrasound along with blood and urine tests, which diagnosed and confirmed Kidney Disease. Today she received her third IV drip for dehydration, and appears to have stabilized. She is eating again after several days. As long as she continues to eat her new special diet, and stays hydrated, she could potentially carry on a relatively normal life for many more months to even years.

Oh….poor baby. So sorry 😦 I hope she’ll recover as soon as possible. The older they get, the more trouble..So sad to see them sick.

Thank you Lucy, She is recovering, but I have to remind her to drink her water. Cats aren’t water guzzlers like dogs, so it’s more difficult. You are right, the older they get, the more problems they start having, just like humans.
